2 Tawarikh 2:4

2:4 Look, I am ready to build a temple to honor ¹  the Lord my God and to dedicate it to him in order to burn fragrant incense before him, to set out the bread that is regularly displayed, ²  and to offer burnt sacrifices each morning and evening, and on Sabbaths, new moon festivals, and at other times appointed by the Lord our God. This is something Israel must do on a permanent basis. ³

5:11 The priests left the holy place. ⁴  All the priests who participated had consecrated themselves, no matter which division they represented. ⁵

[2:4]  ³ tn Heb “permanently [is] this upon Israel.”

[5:11]  ⁴ tn Heb “and when the priests went from the holy place.” The syntactical relationship of this temporal clause to the following context is unclear. Perhaps the thought is completed in v. 14 after a lengthy digression.

[5:11]  ⁵ tn Heb “Indeed [or “for”] all the priests who were found consecrated themselves without guarding divisions.”
